WHAT I'VE DONE SO FAR:

FLORAL DESIGN

Flower

My new passion is in floral design. Currently employed at Flowers For Dreams, I create daily bouquets, corporate arrangements, wedding installments and so much more! This is a career path I have thought I would venture on, but I am loving all the nitty gritty and beauty of it all!

BRAND DESIGN

BRAND

Having the responsibility of a brand image is a huge task. It is the first impression clients, customers, and investors have of the brand. Through my career, I had the opportunity to create or recreate a few brands' images to fit better with today's trends. What is included in a brand image makeover? Other than an efficient website, the brand should have a strong logo, regularly updated social media channels, designated color codes and font choices, and etc.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Socials

Tying along with my designer works, I have been tasked to manage several brands' social media channels. From disseminating information, creating awareness, to promoting upcoming events, I have made publicity that suits the event, such as print posters, web banners, Facebook and Twitter promo content and even Snapchat filters. Here are some example of the work I have taken on over the years:

BOOK COVERS

Here are my renditions for the classic novel by Ernest Hemingway. Based on the story's elements, I have created book covers according to the concepts of color, image, and typography.

MAGAZINE LAYOUTS

MAGAZINE

This is a Halloween Special. My group and I chose a magazine genre that focuses on the unusual stories themed around Halloween. In Neon District, I serve as a Creative Director and am responsible for the overall look of the magazine. I curated all the pages seen below and we even produced physical copies of Neon District to be distributed around campus.

PHOTOGRAPHY

PHOTO

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. Taking an image, freezing a moment, reveals how rich reality truly is. Here is my gallery, showing some of my beloved moments, captured on a DSLR and on my trusty phone camera:

PRESS RELEASES

PRESS

Some of the press releases I (or my team and I) have done so far for various occasions. Professional writing is a very sought-out skill nowadays. I am glad that I got to learn from my mentors as they are well-versed with the industry standards. For a closer look, please click on the preview images below:

THEMED DECORATIONS

DECO

During my internship at Discovery World, a technological and creative hub, I am responsible to make craft projects, design exhibitions, and experiment with prototypes for the public to enjoy during their visit to the interactive museum. I was part of the team that has put all these decorations together for Halloween Night. This holiday party was the talk of the month where visitors came dressed up in costumes, did scavenger hunts and Trick-or-Treat. Halloween Night features trinkets such as ping-pong balls as eyeballs, glass bottle with dyed water as poison, cardboard Frankenstein's Monster, wire-sculpted spiders and so on.

NON-PROFIT EFFORTS

NPE

In 2017, I got in touch with the President of Milwaukee African Women's Association. I am honored to have created the promotional pieces for their fundraising gala. The inspiration for visual came from when I decided to use fingerprints as leafs for the tree branches which signify how the organization & charity are able to branch out to reach those children in need. Regarding with the element of Tanzania (where the orphanage is based at), I have incorporated the colors and the design of the flag on to the tree itself and modeled it after the BaoBao tree that is native to the district. I have done an event poster, ticket stubs, sponsorship packets and presentations.

PR CAMPAIGNS

CAMPAIGNS

Navy Pier is among the most visited destinations in the world. Since the reopening in 1995, the Pier has welcomed over 180 million guests, including a record-breaking 9.3 million guests in 2016. As a main Chicago landmark, Navy Pier offers a wide range of activities and experiences.

As my senior project, my class was assigned with the task of envisioning a new brand image for Navy Pier as they approached their centennial anniversary. This PR proposal included the A to Z of a client pitch: the vision, the planning, the execution, and the evaluation.

The campaign's main goal was to re-position Navy Pier away from the label of being a "tourist trap" and to attract more local Chicagoans into visiting the pier in the off-summer months.

The name of the campaign is Rocktoberfest which provided a rocking time for local families during the day and young adult suburbanites in the evening. Themed activities featured in Rocktoberfest included rock concerts, beer gardens, pumpkin carving shows and etc.

In Kuala Lumpur, the issue of homelessness is on the rise. Society tends to perceive the homeless as a group of people who are unfit and aimless in their lives. However, an article by Astro Awani quotes that 90% of homeless in Malaysia are actively working. Among the reasons they chose to live by the streets include, family issues, lack of disposable income and for some, own willingness.

For Event Management, my class created an organization. Espero PR, which meant ‘hope’, is an organization that wanted to promote public awareness regarding the homeless & the urban poor around Kuala Lumpur.

The campaign is named “Meals for All”, which the main goal was to change the public’s negative perception toward the homelessness. Other than providing ready meals for street distribution, “Meals for All” also collected funds for Hope Boxes that contained necessities to help ease difficulties of being a homeless/urban poor citizen.

At the launch of this campaign, Espero PR had a media event with blessed support from

local activits, celebrities, and the local media. A few news site gave us positive coverage and encouraged the public to join our cause.

"Meals for All" is still active today.

Don't shop; Adopt.

As part of Corporate Service Responsibility (CSR) efforts, my class created a fictional company called "Mutts." We focused on the benefits of pet adoptions in collaboration with a local animal shelter.

The project was named "The Human Walking Programme," a play on the concept whereby the humans are now the ones being walked by dogs. This project invited the local community to come and interact with the dogs and hopefully, give the dogs/cats a loving forever home.

The two-day event comprised of an adoption drive and a mini bazaar centered on pets. Visitors had the opportunity to take the SPCA’s dogs out for a walk around the vicinity of the venue, and have a chat with SPCA’s staff before they decide on adopting.

This CSR event was very successful as several local newspapers/ radio stations gave us positive media coverage. In addition, the amount of successful adoptions that day exceeded our expected target.

STAY TUNED FOR MORE.
